Norway says it will use an ICC warrant to arrest Netanyahu.
Norwegian authorities have said in public that they will jail and extradite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he reaches Norway in accordance with the International Criminal Court's (ICC) arrest warrant. The ICC accused Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including deploying famine as a weapon of mass destruction in Gaza, and issued arrest warrants for both in November 2024.Norway is legally required to comply with ICC rulings as a signatory to the Rome Statute.
Espen Barth Eide, the foreign minister of Norway, reaffirmed in a statement that all parties must uphold their commitments under international law and underlined Norway's support for the ICC's mandate.
